Font Comparison Analyzer
Upload two font files and compare their metadata, glyph counts, weight classes, and Unicode coverage side by side. See exactly which scripts each font supports and where they overlap.
What the Font Comparison Analyzer reports
- Family, style, glyph count, units per em for each font
- Weight class, x-height, cap-height comparison
- Shared Unicode blocks between the two fonts
- Blocks unique to Font 1
- Blocks unique to Font 2
This is useful when deciding whether to replace one font with another, checking if a subsetted font lost coverage, or confirming two fonts will coexist cleanly in a multilingual project.
Frequently asked questions
Can I compare more than two fonts?
This tool compares two at a time. For visual comparison of many fonts, use the Font Comparison Tool in Typography Tools.
What if the fonts have different units per em?
UPM mismatch affects how the fonts scale. Two fonts with different UPM values will render at different visual sizes even at the same font-size CSS. The report shows both UPM values so you can adjust.
What does "shared blocks" mean?
Both fonts contain glyphs in that Unicode block. Shared coverage is good for consistency; unique coverage shows where each font adds value.
