Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
OmniFonts ("we", "us", "our") is a free, browser-based font and typography platform accessible at https://omni-fonts.pages.dev/. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Data we do not collect
We want to be explicit about this because most online font tools do the opposite:
- We do not receive your font files. When you upload a font for conversion, analysis, or validation, the file is read locally by your browser's File API. No bytes are transmitted to any server.
- We do not receive text you enter in generators. Text input is processed in-browser and never transmitted.
- We do not collect personal information such as name, email, or address unless you contact us directly (see Section 6).
- We do not use tracking cookies unless you grant explicit consent for analytics (see Section 5).
- We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties.
3. Data stored in your browser (localStorage)
OmniFonts uses your browser's localStorage to save your preferences between visits. This data never leaves your device.
| Key | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
omnifonts:theme | Light or dark mode preference | Until cleared by user |
omnifonts:fav-fonts | List of favorited fonts in the font library | Until cleared by user |
omnifonts:preview-text | Your custom preview text in the font library | Until cleared by user |
omnifonts:analytics-consent | Whether you granted or denied analytics | Until cleared by user |
How to clear this data: Clear your browser's site data or cookies for omni-fonts.pages.dev. This removes all stored preferences.
4. Data processed in your browser
The following data is processed transiently in your browser's memory and discarded when you close the tab:
- Font files you upload for conversion, analysis, or validation
- Text you enter into generators, calculators, and preview tools
- Search queries typed into the site search
None of this data is transmitted, persisted, or accessed by OmniFonts servers — because OmniFonts has no servers that handle user data.
5. Optional analytics
OmniFonts includes optional Google Analytics 4 integration. It is disabled by default. It only activates if:
- The site operator has configured a valid Measurement ID, and
- You have explicitly granted consent through the site's consent interface, and
- Your browser does not send the Do Not Track signal
When active, GA4 collects:
- Pages visited and time on page
- Browser, operating system, and screen resolution
- Referring source (search engine, direct, or referred link)
- Approximate geographic region (country level — IP is anonymised)
- Event data: which tools were used and whether the action completed successfully (e.g., "conversion" when a download button is clicked)
Analytics events never include font file contents, entered text, or any personal data. IP addresses are anonymised before storage.
To withdraw consent: clear your browser's local storage for this site and reload. The analytics script will not load without consent.
6. Email contact
If you contact us at the email address on the Contact page, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this information only to respond to your message. We do not add you to mailing lists, share your email with third parties, or use it for any other purpose. Email messages are retained for up to two years for reference, then deleted.
7. Third-party services
OmniFonts relies on a small number of third-party services, each of which may receive limited data:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare Pages | Site hosting and CDN delivery | IP address, request headers (standard server logs) |
| Google Fonts (fonts.gstatic.com) | Loads font specimens in the library | IP address, request headers |
| jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net) | Loads font parsing libraries in converters | IP address, request headers |
| Google Analytics 4 | Optional analytics (consent required) | See Section 5 |
These services have their own privacy policies. Their handling of request logs is outside our control but standard for CDN and library hosting services.
What is never sent to third parties: your font files, your text input, your search queries, your local preferences.
8. Cookies
OmniFonts does not set first-party cookies. Cloudflare Pages may set a single functional cookie for security and rate-limiting purposes; this is required for the site to function. Google Analytics 4, if enabled with your consent, sets analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*). These are blocked until you grant consent.
9. Your rights
Because OmniFonts does not collect or store personal data on any server, most data-subject rights are already satisfied by the architecture:
- Right to access: all data OmniFonts stores about you is in your own browser's localStorage — visible in your browser's Developer Tools.
- Right to deletion: clear your browser's local storage for this site. Nothing remains on any server because nothing was sent to a server.
- Right to object to analytics: do not grant consent. Analytics will not run.
- Right to withdraw consent: clear local storage and reload. Analytics will not re-initialise.
If you are in the EU (GDPR), UK (UK GDPR), California (CCPA), Brazil (LGPD), or another jurisdiction with data protection law, and you believe your data has been collected when it should not have been, contact us at the email on the Contact page.
10. Data security
OmniFonts runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure with TLS 1.3 enforced, HSTS enabled, and standard security headers set. Because no user data is stored server-side, there is no central database to breach. The primary security model is that no user data ever leaves the browser.
11. Children's privacy
OmniFonts is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will respond promptly.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the homepage and will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because OmniFonts is designed to collect minimal data, changes should rarely be significant.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, email us at the address on the Contact page. Include "Privacy" in the subject line for faster routing.
