General information only
The tools, articles, guides, and other content on OmniFonts are provided for general informational and utility purposes. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, we make no representation or warranty of any kind about the completeness, accuracy, or reliability of any information or output.
Not legal advice
fsType flag, our tools surface that information. But the definitive legal terms are in the license document that accompanies the font — not in the metadata fields. Do not rely on embedded metadata as a substitute for reading the actual license.
If you need to confirm your legal right to use a font in a specific context, consult the license text directly or contact the font's designer or foundry. For commercial projects, consider consulting a qualified legal professional.
Font identification limitations
OmniFonts provides a Font Identifier tool. It identifies fonts from font files you upload. It does not identify fonts from images, screenshots, or photographs. Image-based font identification is a fundamentally different technology that OmniFonts does not offer.
If you have only a screenshot of text and need to know the font, tools like WhatTheFont or a manual search on MyFonts may be more useful. OmniFonts cannot do this.
Font conversion accuracy
OmniFonts performs real format conversion using a genuine OpenType parser. Output files are valid font files in the target format — not renamed copies.
However, we cannot guarantee that a converted font will render identically to its source in every environment. Rendering differences may arise from:
- Hinting loss during conversion (affects small-size rendering on some systems)
- Browser-specific font rendering engines
- Operating system font fallback behaviour
- Feature support differences between TTF, OTF, WOFF, and WOFF2
Test converted fonts in your target environment before deployment.
Unicode text generators
Output from our text generators (Fancy Text, Stylish Font, Cursive, etc.) is real Unicode text, not images and not a custom font. Because it uses characters from Unicode's mathematical alphanumeric and symbol blocks, it may have the following limitations:
- Accessibility: screen readers may skip, mispronounce, or fail to read styled Unicode characters. Use them decoratively, never for critical information.
- Searchability: text styled with these characters is usually not indexable by search engines or site search.
- Compatibility: some devices, apps, or fonts may not render the styled characters and may show fallback glyphs or tofu boxes instead.
- Copy-paste behaviour: some systems may convert styled characters back to standard ASCII on paste.
Do not rely on generated Unicode text for permanent content such as legal agreements, identifiers, code, or content that must be reliably retrievable.
Typography calculators
Typography calculators (font size, line height, letter spacing, contrast ratio, etc.) use published formulas from the W3C CSS Fonts Module and WCAG 2.2. Output values are mathematically correct for the formulas used. However, visual results depend on factors outside the formula: font rendering engine, display DPI, and specific font design. Calculator output is a starting point, not a guarantee of visual quality.
Font accessibility checker
The Font Accessibility Checker reports objective font metrics: x-height ratio, cap-height, weight class, and available styles. These metrics correlate with readability but do not guarantee accessibility. Full accessibility requires testing with real users, assistive technology, and contextual rendering — not just font-level metadata.
